Skiathos is the most cosmopolitan of the three Sporades islands, birthplace of
Papadiamantis, o�ne of the most prominent writers of modern Greek literature,
whose books have been translated into many languages.
Skiathos town offers a busy cosmopolitan nightlife, a wide selection of local
tavernas, and a truly picturesque harbour with waterfront cafes and ouzerias.
The rest of the island retains much of its natural allure. For most visitors, in fact, the
main attractions are the purity of the water and the lovely fine-sand beaches.

The island boasts more than 60 beaches, the most famous of which, Koukounaries,
is considered o�ne of the very best in Greece. If you relish sun, sand, sea, and
crowds, you will love it.

Our beach in Aghia Paraskevi bay, where our villa is located, is also one of the most
beautiful in the island beaches awarded the Blue Flag, which is a programme
developed by the Foundation for Environmnental Education, a non-profit
non-governmental organisation. The Blue Flag is a volontary and exclusive
eco-label awarded to beaches, marinas meeting strict criteria dealing with water
quality, evironmental education and information, environmental management and
safety and other services.
